VETS
Dr.
Jim Stark is a 1970 Iowa State University’s veterinary
school graduate. He has been with Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital
since the construction of the
first CTAH building in 1972. He is particularly interested in
orthopedic surgery, and enjoys the variety of species and medical/surgical
cases that our hospital encounters. Dr. Stark is married to Linda
and they four adult children. In
his life away from CTAH, Dr. Stark raises alpacas
and Boer goats, retired from the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra where
he played trombone for over 30 years, and continues to play
assorted community and dance band gigs. Certainly one of the
highlights of his career is to see the completion of the enlarged
and remodeled hospital that was completed in May of 2006.
Dr.
Joan McCleary is a 2000 graduate of Iowa State University’s
College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing at Colonial
Terrace Animal Hospital since then, developing special
interests in ultrasound and internal medicine. She is married
to Brian, an investment specialist at American Trust, and they have
two children. They also have a basset hound,
Oliver, a cockapoo, Grover, 2 cats, Eddie and Libby and a fish, Becky. She is currently serving on the Dubuque Humane Society Board of Directors, and enjoys spending as much time as she can with her kids (both the furry and non-furry).
Dr.
Krista Hardyman is a 2000 graduate of Iowa State University
College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been with Colonial Terrace
Animal
Hospital since April 2005. She has enjoyed the challenges of daily
practice, especially soft tissue surgery. She lives on a farm
with her husband, Larry,
and two children. The family’s four legged
friends include two border collie cross dogs, Duppy and Adolf,
two cats, Mr. Kitty and Marvin, and a herd of Holsteins.
Dr.
Naomi Sprank is a 2009 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been with Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital since October 2009. She is excited to start her career at a progressive AHAA certified clinic. She is looking forward to meeting new people and their pets. She is married to Tim, a mixed animal practitioner, and they have a new baby girl. They have a Siamese cat named Beefmaster and a mastiff named Jersey. In addition to Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital. Dr Sprank works part-time at the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.
